Today I read the BlueSky-tweet of Atte Harjanne, who is the leader of the Green Party parliamentary group in the Finnish parliament. He published a blog in support of Ukraine, where he said (Finnish original follows):

Third, it is necessary to prepare for the deployment of Western troops to help Ukraine on the ground. Supporting Ukraine in this way is also in full compliance with the UN Charter. Western powers can act in Ukraine as trainers, as I already wrote in January, as technical support and maintenance, as help in the air defense of civil targets to fight Russian missiles and drones, or to protect the borders against Belarus or Transnistria. This will improve Ukraine’s ability to defend itself and free Ukrainian troops to go forward without Western and Russian forces meeting on the battlefield.

Such military deployments should be carried out with as much cooperation as possible between Western countries. If Finland were to participate, the forces would be integrated in the same way as crisis management operations.
