Alastair Crooke: The West’s Willful Blindness Towards Israel Judge Napolitano, YouTube. 17:15: “The West wants war.” Earlier in the interview, Crooke relays a report from a friend who was at a guest house in Iran with Hamiyeh and survived (!!!) and confirms that the attack was carried out by a projectile, not a bomb. It also mentions that Russian electronic suppression systems, with a range of up to 5000 km (no typo) have been delivered to Iran and are apparently being used. Other sites have reported on the transmission of the program. According to Crooke, GPS “doesn’t work well in Israel.”

Benjamin Netanyahu clashes with security officials over Hamas deal Financial Times. It’s totally weird. Was this story posted after ten days? There is no hope that it will end now. Misleading mention of the fact that Israel killed, perhaps a chief, Hamas negotiator (his assassination is well-publicized and his role downplayed). So what purpose does this disinfo serve? Expanding on Blinken’s nutty rhetoric of needing a ceasefire right after Hamiyeh’s murder?

Japanese stocks also rose 9% after the Financial Times global survey. I said privately last night that this decline looks like overdue volatility after a very long period of good times, ex if you were unlucky enough to catch bad tech stocks. Of course, if we have a war, that is very disruptive to commerce. But yesterday’s headlines didn’t give that accident anywhere near the prominence it deserved, so I don’t see Mr. Market currently has enough price for that. But that can change very quickly!

Thailand may tell us a lot about the future of the currency Financial Times. *Sigh* The Thai government has been trying to reduce spending for years. There was a significant drop in 2022, but cash still accounts for 50% of all sales. Furthermore, even though Thais are VERY wired and use phones regularly to transfer money, including from one to another, the performance is so poor that users are often forced to return the money. I went to a meeting last week. There was an outcry from customers of several different major banks. They can try to transfer money, the bank will insist that the customer submit a new selfie to verify identification, and the photo will be rejected. A branch march wouldn’t really solve the problem. No one in the house had any remedies other than carrying a lot of money. “Cash is king” especially if you can pay for services at 7-11 (full here)….but only with cash.
