Stories About My Life – Econlib

In response to my recent EconLog post, “Competition Works, Even in Health Care,” August 17, 2024, many of you commented or sent emails or Facebook messages expressing your concerns. Thank you all for what you did.

Yesterday, I received some very good news. After that the biopsy had removed 12 tissue samples. 10 showed no signs of cancer. 2 showed evidence of cancer but the Gleason score was 3 and 3. Obviously that’s what one would expect from a Gleason result. The Gleason score, as you might imagine, is named after the famous comedian Jackie Gleason. No, really, it was named after Dr. Donald Gleason.

However, I do not plan to make EconLog a place where I post about my life. I will only do that on my davidhrenderson Substack, “I Blog to Differ” and/or on my Facebook page. The only reason I talked about my life in my Sunday post was to tell my competitive story. So the only post in the future where I talk about my life on EconLog will be what will be the economics part.

Thanks again for all the good wishes.
