The Port of Seattle says the August cyberattack was the Rhysida ransomware

The agency said it refused to pay an unspecified ransom demanded by the criminals.

Jobs were restored with minimal damage

When investigating the system disruption that occurred on August 24, the agency determined that an unauthorized actor was able to access certain parts of his computer systems and encrypt access to certain data.

In response, the agency shut down systems online. That, along with the ransomware attack itself, affected port services including baggage, check-in kiosks, ticketing, Wi-Fi, passenger display boards, the Port of Seattle website, the flySEA app, and reserved parking.
