A report by cloud security company Tenable found that 74% of companies surveyed disclosed storage or other misconfigurations. This is a dangerous open door for cybercriminals. Overall, cloud security is getting worse. The availability and quality of security tools is getting better, but people who secure cloud computing infrastructure are getting frustrated. Something has to give.
The study also revealed that more than one-third of cloud environments are highly vulnerable due to a combination of factors: highly privileged, publicly exposed, and highly vulnerable workloads. This alarming “cloud cloud triad” puts these organizations at high risk of cyberattacks and underscores the need for swift and strategic intervention.
