When personal data is stolen, it is a joy for those affected. However, when it comes to those who have previously been involved in, or victims of, organized crime, the consequences can be dire: Life and limb can be at risk.
As absurd as it may sound, this is apparently what happened in Japan’s Kumamoto prefecture, at a government counseling center dedicated to violence prevention, as reported by the German version of CSOonline.
The Kumamoto Prefecture Anti-Violence Movement Promotion Center offers free and confidential counseling services to people associated with (or threatened by) the yakuza, Japan’s gangs.
