Will Israel Kill Public Support for America’s Bipartisan Deal?

Bipartisan Consensus Runs America

Bipartisan Consensus on most issues rules America. For example, Bipartisan Consensus rules to support our wars. April 20:

The United States House of Representatives approved a legislative package of 95 billion dollars on Saturday, aimed at providing aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. … Both Democratic President Joe Biden and top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell urged Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to introduce the bill.

Also on April 27:

The US Senate has approved a $95bn bill to provide security assistance to Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific region with overwhelming bipartisan support, a boost to President Joe Biden’s key foreign policy priorities.

This is true despite the lack of public support for both wars, and active opposition to the ongoing massacre in Gaza.

The same is true of health care in America. Most have favored Medicare for All programs for years. However, the Bipartisan Consensus is against it. Biden said he would oppose the Medicare for All bill, while Republicans, of course, want a Medicare for No One plan, despite much support for the public option even among their base.

I guarantee, even Republican voters, if they had it, would kill to keep Medicare for All expanded. There is no he thinks South Park it’s not good for the US medical system. We haven’t reached the majority of the opposition, and the media is helping to keep it that way.

It’s the Princeton Course All Again

We could go on and on, but what’s the point? This is the Princeton course as well. “Important Lesson Learned US Is An Oligarchy” chanted one headline. We all know that statement is not wrong.

This is not about Left versus Right. There are issues of Left vs. Right, but Endless War (enriching the war purveyors) and Endless Wealth Flowing Up (enriching our real rulers and robbing everyone else) are not among them.

This is about The rich and others. Specifically, it’s about How do we stop the rich from ruling over others? How do we break their vice-grip on politics?

Would Israel Support Separating the Rich from the Others?

Which brings me to Israel, and my main point.

The people of Gaza are being killed endlessly. In response, here at home, there is an incredibly strong backlash – students against bankrupt universities; those who rule against their rulers, such as billionaire Robert Kraft – and the issue that sparked the entire foreign war, the killing of Israelis, and its broad and willing media support.

Where could this end?

The best outcome would be for Israel to stop killing people. That would end the death and end the treason of our leaders. After all, George Floyd’s protests left no trace. The torture of the Gazans will continue, just as the policeman continues, but if his driver is killed – mass murder – this protest may spread to the wings.

But what if Israel is aiming for real ethnic cleansing, either by mass killing Gazans, or by mass deportation, or both. John Mearsheimer certainly thinks this is the most likely of his four options. Israelis do not want a one-state solution. They do not want a two-state solution. They are either driving all the Arabs from Palestine, or killing those who are left.

Then what happens, if Israel does not stop?

  1. Biden is withholding support to Israel in a meaningful way, and reasonable protests cease.
  2. Biden maintains support and the protests are quick, along with the unstoppable killings.

I think that’s the choice.

If Biden and the Bipartisan Gang persist in fighting the massacre of a million or so innocent lives, America’s bottom – its people – can rise up – its money-fed leaders – in a way that tells everyone involved. this inescapable fact: The rich don’t rule us in people’s names but in their own.

The Unfinished Revolution

And that will take the US back to the ’60s and ’70s, another time of great rebellion. At that time many themes – civil rights, women’s rights, nature (called “greening”), and others – were each united at the core of life and death, the refusal of many young men to be taken out to die. .

As long as the framework was in place, the rebellion (“the Movement”) was strong, a strong threat to the authority of the State. As soon as the frame ended, the Movement began to decline. The separate “movement” remained, but lost critical weight. We live in a post-Movement world, created by Carter (the proto-neoliberal), Reagan, Clinton, Bush and all the rest.

What Will End American Slavery?

As in the beginning, today there are many problems that threaten our existence – economic and racial justice, the rape of people for the sake of wealth, our murderous nature – but no one has united people to rise up, and nothing has awakened the mass of people.

Until now, that is, in terms of the horror of Israeli genocide and the determination of our rulers to see it continue.

So my bottom line is this:

If Israel continues to kill Gazans, and our leaders continue to force participation down our throats, the rebellion could light a flame that could reach a critical mass – and burn until the Israelis surrender, or Biden does, or our leaders lose control of the country.

Will Israel succeed in dividing this nation? After all, something he must end American slavery. It will not end alone. It can also be done by the hand of the best friend of our leaders.
