Sedge Warbler, ‘your’ Denmark. “Habitat: Swamp.” Virtuousic!
Patient readers, I’ve had a major editorial argument, so I have to sacrifice the Water Cooler to finish work on an important California Ninth Circuit court decision regarding vaccine mandates.
Meanwhile, I’m surprised Taylor Swift, the superspreader, hasn’t come up with her own version of this (or maybe she did):
Instead of spaces taking much needed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are being asked to sign a waiver saying we will not be sued if we get COVID-19. pic.twitter.com/3eGJIW5CVK

Students, I respect New York Public Library, so this example of last-world neoliberalism fills me with incredible disgust. Do we have any New York students and/or librarians who can find out who did this atrocity and bring them to justice? Why don’t they fix their ventilation system, make the C02 concentration detectable, and have N95s available? Have fun! (Also, it should be “agents,” plural, and there is an Oxford comma missing.)
Plant contact details: Readers, feel free to contact me at lambert [UNDERSCORE] Strether [DOT] corrente [AT] yahoo [DOT] com, to (a) find out how to send me a check if you’re sick of PayPal and (b) to find out how to send pictures of plants. Vegetables are good! Fungi, algae, and corals are considered venerable plants! If you want your handle to appear as a credit, please put it at the beginning of your mail in brackets: (for that). If not, I will hide them by using your initials. Check out the previous Water Cooler (with a plant) here. Answer from Amfortas:
I believe me these are Black Eyed Susans – I remember fields of them in the Midwest – but don’t Black Eyed Susans have yellow petals?
Students: Water Cooler is an independent business not is put together by NC’s annual fundraiser. So if you see a link you particularly like, or something you can’t see anywhere else, please don’t hesitate to express your appreciation in a tangible way. Remember, a tip is a tip! A generally positive response both makes me feel good and lets me know I’m on the right track with coverage. If I don’t get donations for three or four days I get worried. Obviously, ongoing donations help me with expenses, and I contribute to that trick when I set fundraising goals:
Here is the screen that will appear, which I have helpfully explained:
If you hate PayPal, you can email me at lambert [UNDERSCORE] Strether [DOT] corrente [AT] yahoo [DOT] com, and I’ll give you directions on how to send a check. Thank you!
