In the United States, could it be a suburb of Columbus, Ohio? Or maybe Knoxville, Tennessee, not too far from the country’s population center?
Those areas are general, and are not concentrated in any one region, or perhaps they move from region to region. They represent life in the United States as a whole, as opposed to NYC or Miami or San Francisco, or a small town.
In Germany, what about the city of Mainz?
In France, somewhere near Lyon?
Japan should be on the outskirts of Tokyo.
In the UK, you can’t name such a place, unless you think it’s somewhere “between” north London and south north England? I can’t think of one.
In Italy, what about Bologna or Turin?
In Mexico, what about Puebla? Ontario area of Canada?
Brazil, Belo Horizonte?
Where else?
