Living for a few years in another country seems like a dream for many.
Those who love your imagination are often encouraged by opportunities for travel, new adventures, and exciting cultures; no wonder they are confused about how people can afford this for a few years.

The truth is that expats around the world are not living the tourist’s dream, going from one sightseeing trip to the next – it would be too expensive, after all.
Most of them work to pay for this pleasure, to build their businesses abroad or to advance their careers by using their qualifications abroad. Here are a few other ways to make money than those that consider the same way, making it possible to experience the world as a place without spending all your savings.
Work on Your Computer
For many, it’s a living from your computer the only way to go. It makes sense, since you can bring your laptop wherever you go and you can do a lot of work as long as the internet connection is stable. In addition, computer workers do not have to be intelligent freelancers although you have a number of options in this department as well.
Teach or lecture, for example, and stay in touch with your students or clients via Skype from the comfort of one of these rental houses in Padua, Italy, a cafe in Tokyo, or the beach in Rio. Keep in mind that most people can generate a good income just by working on their computers, usually, have something planned before going. It’s a good idea to have a word with your manager before you quit your day job and ask if they have any transportation plans available.
That way, you will be able to continue doing what you usually do – in a completely different environment.
You can, of course, start building a day job as soon as you go, but it will take time to generate income and you may have to find another way to make money in the meantime. Don’t worry, though; there are a number of options below.
Apply for Your Degree

Fortunately, they need bright heads like yours in the country you plan to put down roots for a while. When you have been studying for years, it makes sense to offer your services and make a living abroad as well.
Remember to check the work permit rules in advance before you leave and try to find a job before you go to the airport. It makes the whole experience that much better, and you’ll get it affordable rental housing before you leave and identify where you should stay for ease of work.
You can contact a recruitment service, for example, contacts in the country of destination – or you can contact the recruitment company of the foreign country directly. Many of them will be more than happy to arrange a job interview for you and organize everything before you arrive; especially if you love the work you do and have a decent degree to show for it.
Either way, they should be able to help you a little on your way. Applying for your degree is a great way to start your career, and you will be able to bring back many useful skills and knowledge when you decide to continue in your home country.
Use Your Skills
If you have a certain set of skills that might be useful, you probably know this well yourself. We have been on enough holidays to know that people who teach scuba-diving, surfing or skiing are paid to do their job and that they are very good at what they do.
Times are changing, however, and you may be able to make money with something other than the usual holiday items that you never really thought of; teaching yoga, for example, or meditation is a good idea if you have a lot of experience with it.
Keep in mind that backpackers are less likely to pay for a yoga session than adults at a resort if you know what I’m saying. Be strategic about where you offer classes, and it may be enough to make a little money.
Other skills which are universally desired and especially if you cut and are not afraid to work long hours. Carpentry, painting and general crafts are often in high demand; with a little experience in this field, you will be able to make decent money.

Apply as a Teacher
Anyone can live and work in another country these days as long as they know where to look. They tend to learn and really enjoy their work. This type of office job probably isn’t for you if you work on the go – so get yourself something temporary to suit your flexible style.
The world is your oyster if you are willing to work and enjoy the experience that comes with the job. You’ll get to meet new people you wouldn’t meet as a regular vacationer – and, if money isn’t an issue, the adventure can go on for as long as you want.
